Colour Your World....

There is nothing like the sound of 2000 plus women lifting their voices to their king.

Risen.

Empowered.

Beautiful to the core.

Chain Gang

ok friends.. new blog challenge...

its a chain poem... we start with one standard verse and then you add another verse of any length of your choosing and the next person does too and so on and so forth. at the end we will have a poem that we all wrote together.... yipee!!!! my gosh i sound like a girl. i blame PHOENIX and CLOVER. anyway its my game so i get to play first..

Betrayed,
Dark clouds scream across the sky,
Blotting out the sun in my soul.

Et tu, Brute?
I cannot believe one so dear
could turn
and drive the fatal spear home.
If love had wages
surely pain could not be it? (PHOENIX)

Still, Paid in full am i,
Unsure who to curse..
You..
for you wrenched my heart out and and wrung it like a wet cloth
or Love
for she sent me the wrong way down a one way street.

Though I see collision
I cannot turn.
My heart will not take heed.
Like old black and white stills
scenes flash in warning
as I race toward my prize. (PHOENIX)

Emotions in full motion
The vehicle gains momentum.
The saving hour is passed
My destiny is sealed.
If only this cup could pass me by
Nevertheless- this was my will.

and my will be done.
Or so it always has.

Is there no end to this... myself?
The thing I love and loathe
and know and don't.
I saw you as saviour when I couldn't be
and hoped you could atone for my sin.
I placed you on the pedestal you fell from
and so I fell with you. (Phoenix)

Entangled in your deception,
Trapped in my imperfection.
A once promising sky fills with grey,
...Hope sinks eternal.

As the first drops pelt the earthI pause and looktoward the heaven
where once I saw despair.
I now find hope.
Can it be that at the end of my grace
I find a new Grace?
A Mercy that is new every day? (phoenix)

I have heard about this before
yet somehow i never believed.
How when all else fails,
And darkness consumes all i see.
There is still a light that echoes through eternity,
It vibrates in my soul, brings tears to my eyes.

I have heard about it before
yet somehow i never concieved.
That Light was betrayed and darkness reigned,
for this cause:
that Light could reign and darkness never again.
My eyes have opened-
I see beauty that makes this heart adore -
I see hope of a life spent with Light.

Once betrayed,
Dark clouds scream across the sky
that Light is risen.
The Debt is paid.
And the new Son rises in my soul. (Phoenix)

If war is the answer...
it must be a very stupid question.

YouthAIDS

gotta say i am sucker for projects focussed on the youth making a difference. thats why i am begging you to check out this website http://www.youthaids-aldo.org/ its about reaching out to youth about AIDS and its dangers. I think that HIV should be on everyones lips, and the youth are at the highest risk and are the majority of HIV infected people. Strange, most of the people i know want to make a difference here's a chance to make a small one. do not be fooled this will not provide a cure to AIDS but this is abt SPEAKING the truth and HEARING it. its imporatant that the people in our world understand what HIV is abt and for some of you i am hoping it is important that you line up take a stand and be counted in humanity's greatest battle to date.

for my people perish for a lack of knowledge.

Zimbabwe part II

hey gang...

gotta say of all the posts i have put up, this is the one that has stimulated a lot of debate, a lot of it off the record though but its been educational and fun. well the next installment begins...

Part 1 was a history lesson, this will focus more on the present to the future.

There is a new generation of leader emerging in Zimbabwe. This is the first Zimbabwe generation, the children born in a free Zimbabwe where all were equal, the "born free". those of us lucky enough to reap the benefits of the sacrifice of countless lives laid down in service for an ideal have an obligation to honour their lives by building what they dreamt it could be. being born free i was raised in multi-cultural zimbabwe. went to school with people of all races, had friends of all creeds etc etc. and its in this generation that all hope lies, growing up together, shared similar experiences.. have similar hopes and aspirations, and on that a nation can be built. The problem is my situation is the exeption to the rule... if more people had grown up in multi-cultural environs people would fear and mistrust each other less.

My answer to all the problems... lets not shell ourselves into our environments and cultures but step out and learn about our neighbours and build relationships with them and from there we can build a nation. Zimbabwe is a generic term replaceable by South Africa and Namibia etc etc.
